I loved this custom hood pattern by Sinduction. Although it's not so much a pattern as a general guide, whih can be a great thing when experimenting with crochet. This was a mixture of 4ply cottons and some mohair for the blue stripes.
Yes, today is my 28th birthday and it's black friday.
FUN FACT - I was actually born on Friday 13th of July 1984 (young goth me loved that fact)
I have absolutely no plans for the day. Tomorrow i'm going for a nice lunch with my girlfriend, but today is looking to be pretty dang lazy.
These are the Fingerless Mittens by Karen Janine, I made these in the Joe Sharp silkroad DK for myself. They are soft but strong enough to be perfect for my harder wearing man hands. They were also really quick to make, which is great for those times when you are impatient for a burst of finished object satisfaction.
This was a design by Kevin Mullins (combatcaveman on instagram), made during the workshop with Keith Lo Bue.
The following pics are of Kevin and the wire rings he made for random attractive tourist girls on the train.
A couple of months ago I attended a 4-day workshop with american jeweller Keith Lo Bue as part of the TAFTA 2012 forum. I had a great time and learned a lot and have found a possible new career along the way. The following photos are of the pieces made by other attendees of the workshop.
Earlier this year i was at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. I was there manning the NSW Knitters Guild table.
While there i escaped for an hour to go check the animals out. Pretty quickly i discovered the Alpacas and got to see a baby alpaca getting some exercise... I couldn't help but watch and wonder on the logistics of getting over the fence with it slung over my shoulders, unfortunately the fences were too high so i had to leave empty handed. Anyway, here are some alpaca shots for your enjoyment.
